These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ShoreNova ("we", "our", "us") and the website shorenova.com ("the Site").

By accessing or using ShoreNova, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the Site.

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

Informational service only

ShoreNova provides weather, ocean, tide, beach, and travel-related information for general informational and planning purposes only.

ShoreNova does not provide official weather forecasts, marine safety advisories, or emergency services. All content is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

Use at your own risk

All data, conditions, forecasts, tide times, safety ratings, and travel information provided by ShoreNova are for informational purposes only. Use of this information is entirely at your own risk.

Conditions in natural environments can change rapidly and may differ significantly from what is displayed on the Site due to local geography, weather events, seasonal variation, or other factors beyond our control.

Never rely solely on ShoreNova for safety-related decisions. Always consult official local authorities, lifeguards, or emergency services before engaging in any water or coastal activity.

No warranty

We do not guarantee:

  • Accuracy of weather, tide, or ocean condition data
  • Completeness or reliability of any information
  • Availability or uninterrupted access to the Site
  • That data will always be current or error-free

We make no warranty that any weather, tide, ocean, or travel-related data displayed on the Site is accurate, complete, or up to date at the time of use.

User responsibility

You are solely responsible for your decisions and actions based on information from ShoreNova. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Travel and itinerary decisions
  • Swimming, surfing, or water activity decisions
  • Safety-related decisions in coastal environments

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ShoreNova and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

  • Your use of, or inability to use, the Site
  • Any decision made in reliance on data, forecasts, or information displayed on the Site
  • Personal injury, property damage, or death resulting from beach visits or ocean activities planned using the Site
  • Errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in any content or data
  • Financial loss, travel delays, or cancellations
  • Interruption or cessation of the Site or any service

This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory under which a claim is brought, even if ShoreNova has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Third-party services

ShoreNova relies on third-party services and data providers for functionality, including weather and environmental data providers, mapping services, analytics services, and advertising networks. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or privacy practices of any third-party service.

Map data displayed on the Site is © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use automated systems to scrape, crawl, or excessively access the Site without prior written permission
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the Site or its infrastructure
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code or data pipelines from the Site
  • Reproduce, republish, or redistribute Site content commercially without permission
  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms

We reserve the right to block access to any user or automated system that misuses the Site.

Intellectual property

All original content on ShoreNova - including text, editorial descriptions, travel guides, safety information, design, and branding - is the intellectual property of ShoreNova and may not be copied, reproduced, or redistributed without express written permission.

Third-party data and map content displayed on the Site remain the property of their respective owners. ShoreNova does not claim ownership of any third-party data.

Advertising

ShoreNova displays advertisements served by third-party advertising networks, including Google AdSense. Advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies in accordance with their own privacy policies. ShoreNova is not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements.

Changes to the service

We may update, modify, or discontinue any part of ShoreNova at any time without prior notice. We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the service.
